Taylah's Mermaid
First of all with a young lady in mind I gathered some darling youthful elements to use. Among them you'll see a pair of the chunkiest miniature platform sandals that I painted PALEST PINK to coordinate with the scheme. I then added a little tag that reads "Fairy Footwear" as I was informed that she has a passion for the Fairy! A pair of boots with a coordinating handbag was also used and again I painted them pink and added white dots so any fun loving Fairy could purchase a pair when feeling funkadelic!!! The mirror is an old old miniature from Italy and I left it in distress but then added some OLD VINTAGE MINATURE candle sticks, and made pink candlabara out of wooden dowels and then created the parchment shades with pink parchment papier! Once I did this I commenced to beading them for a bit of movement using ab pale pink crystals! I found a great piece of doll furniture for the display then painted it cottage white (it was pepto pink!) and turned it into a breakfront to accommodate the many many little bottles of parfum I handmade using a variety of lovely crystal beads! They are precious! And I then added the old porcelain brooch with the Victorian couple courting in an old English garden for a pop of colour and suprize at the very top! Last but certainly NOT LEAST is the shopping mermaid herself! Carrying a tiny shopping bag that I created with metallic gold parchment papier where two die cut Faeries were attached to the front....and the LOGO" Faires and Mermaids" was scripted in another effort to incorporate the 'fairy" your daughter loves so much! The SMASHING MERMAID is laden with oodles of crystal jewels from her ear bobbs down to her wrists and again with her little clamsell purse on a string of ab PINK crystals riding sweetly on the cheek of her derrier! Her make up hand painted to the tiniest detail she is a vision! Her tail has been treated with a bit of an old PALE PINK beaded frock and then silver glass glitter was used for a bit of sparkle (as if she needed anymore lol). IN one of her tiny hands you'll find some bleu lens sunglasses, these are VINTAGE BARBIE and I added some Swarovski crystals to the edge for more cha~cha! The frame in an ancient convex affair, refurbished and deepened to accommodate the beautiful work it will now protect. I hope this will bring lots of joy to anyone who sees it and know I had a ball doing it!
