About

Thank you for Visiting my site and taking the time
to read a little about me...

Im sure your First question is...Who is Lu La Belles?

Lu La Belle is a nickname my father gave me when I was growing up....he would call me Lu Lu or Lu La Belle,

I remember growing up not loving the nick name but as I got older I grew fond of it...

I opened a brick and mortar store some years ago in a quaint Marina town on the Jersey shore so when I was thinking of a name I wanted it to be personal to me thus the name Lu La Belles.....

It was a shabby chic style store with new and old items as well as my vintage jeweled frames that I designed and created...

I grew up in a house where decorating the shabby chic way was the style even before it became a "style".

My mother always shopped at antique stores, thrift stores, garage sales and flea markets ...always mixing  the old with the new.
When I got my first home in the 80's It was decorated in pinks and blues, ribbons and roses...

I did go through a faze where I  only bought  new items and edited the vintage items from my house... but then I found my home lacked that real home  feel and was more like a department store....so eventually the old came back in and I found the right balance...

I was always decorating and usually helped my friends with their homes...they always told me that I should do this for a living...eventually I did and opened my little store so that I could have a creative outlet and do what I loved...eventually opening my web site

Flipping through the pages or Romantic Homes has been one of my biggest inspirations and I still have most all of the issues from years ago...I cant seem to let them go!

I also love Romantic Country magazine and have quite a collection of their issues to add to my stash...
My only complaint is that they only come out every 3 months and not every month!!!!

I have been inspired by so many talented people that have been featured in both magazines  including Rachel Ashwell who made the  name "Shabby Chic" a household name..
Whenever I need inspiration I look through all my magazines or go antique shopping!!!!

There is something about looking at beautiful vintage laces, fabrics, china and jewelry that touches  your heart and just inspires you to bring new life to all the wonderful treasures you find..

I hope the treasures you find here also reach your heart and that you find things that you will cherish for years to come..
Sincerely,

Sandy... aka... Lu La Belle
